The future of healthcare for seniors

Now that the so-called “age wave” has begun crashing on society’s shores we are all reexamining the implications this demographic shift will have on the provision of healthcare, particularly with respect to senior citizens. Given that public healthcare in more and more jurisdictions is beginning to hit a wall that no amount of funding will breach, it is incumbent on us to come up with alternatives to public healthcare in the provision of long-term care for seniors.

A demographic disaster in the making

It appears the Government of Canada has finally discovered the fact that the population is aging, something those of us in the private sector have known for well over 20 years. What few seem to have considered is the impact that an aging population will have on the nation’s economy.

Understanding the Generation Gap

Experience shapes lives.
It used to be called “the generation gap” and it appeared sometime in the 1960s to explain the vast difference in worldviews between baby boomers and their parents. Back in those days most young people couldn’t understand what made their parents think what they were thinking and largely thought of them as old fogies who couldn’t understand the modern world.
